Synopsis
It is 1880, in the Opera House in Paris. Everybody is talking about the Phantom of the Opera, the ghost that lives somewhere under the Opera House. The Phantom is a man in black clothes. He is a body without a head, he is a head without a body. He ahs a yellow face, he has ano nose, he has black holes for eyes. Everybody is afraid of th Phantom - the singers, the dancers, the directors, the stage workers...
About the Author
Jennifer Bassett has worked in English Language Teaching since 1972. She has been a teacher, teacher trainer, editor, and materials writer, and has taught in England, Greece, Spain, and Portugal. She is the current series editor for Oxford Bookworms Library, and has written several other stories for the series, including One-Way Ticket and The Phantom of the Opera. Jennifer has seen almost all of Shakepare's plays in the theatre or on film.
