Synopsis
All he wanted to do was to marry the woman he loved. but his country said "No!" He was Edward VII, King of Great Britain, King of India, King of Thirty-nine other countries. And he loved the wrong woman. She was beautiful and she loved him - but she was already married to another man. It was a love story that shook the world. The King had to Choose: to be King, or to have love.... and leave his country, never to return.
About the Author
Peter Dainty studied mordern history at the university of Oxford. He has worked in English Language Teaching for many years, at a private language school and the University of London, and has taught students form all over the world. He now works as a full-time writer and has published twelve books. He wrote The Love of a King because he thinks that the romance between Edward and Mrs Simpson is a very different and interesting love story.
